Concert & a trip
Mar. 8th, 2008 | 09:43 pm
location: Floatin' off in the rain
music: Mercy - OneRepublic
{ I went to see OneRepublic a few days ago. Saving Jane and The Daylights opened for them. OneRepublic was really amazing, awsm, brilliant (can't think of enough words to describe them), haha. There were a lot of people there too, didn't expect that many people to be there (of course the bar there probably attracted some people, but whatever). OneRepublic is one of my favorite bands in the whole world so you should check them out if you haven't already <3!
Next week I'll be swimming at Harvard for New Englands which is always exciting because of the shopping, duh! Plus the food in Boston is to dieeee forr!! Stomach, meet quincy market. It's love for sure! :]
Gotta make a list of clothes I need to buy at Filene's basement too, cause everyone knows that is like the BEST place to get very very discounted designer clothing. Top of my list is jeans and a bubble skirt because I totally can't alter my skirts, believe me I've tried many many times, just never worked out for me.
I've also managed to convince my father for an outing at manhatten "sometime soon." I really hope it is because I'm gonna try to convince him to take a detour to the famous Tiffany's with me.
Brother left for Denmark today as well. I hope he has fun on his year abroad (yeah right, since when was college-even if its abroad fun?). I also hope he takes a lot of pretty pictures with his crazy cameras. He got a new one which is totally manual, kinda curious as to what kind of shots it can take compared to the automatic/semi-manual on he already owns.
Outside is like a deluge and its the second time this has happened. Its raining like crazy outside, better start building that ark. :P }

Q___Q
Jul. 5th, 2007 | 09:23 pm
location: Home (suprise there)
mood:
sleepy
music: Judy and the Dream of Horses - Belle and Sebastian
{ Duuude you wouldn't know how much I wish I could drive. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW BORING IT GETS AT HOME. It drives me crazy. Anyway, the pool was absolutely freezing this morning, our coach totally lied to us about the water being warmer than the air temperature. Ocean was pretty cold too, except in one part it was warm and then it was like BOOM! Instant coldness D;
I've been looking at designer clothing and stuff lately (yeah actually I am obsessed), and I just learned about Tsubi/Ksubi jeans (I know, slow aren't I?). They look pretty cool I have yet to see them in stores yet. Which reminds me, the Japan-based store Uniqlo is coming to the US! From what I know it's going to be in Soho, NY? I'm not too sure but you can check their website. I saw pics of the inside of the building and I must say it looks stunning. Shelves and shelves full of clothes, the shelves lead up to the ceiling and there are a large selection of colors. I am so excited...even though I don't live in NY, I hope I get the chance to take a visit to the Uniqlo store (convincing my parents is a tough job). Which brings me back to swimming, if I make Zones this year (which takes place in Buffalo, NY), I probably have a better chance to explore NY since I'm gonna be there for a reason other than shopping (keke, that's all they know). >:D }
< Pic of the outside of the work in progress Uniqlo store in NY.
Ooh yeah forgot the awesome links :D
»Uniqlo
»Turk and Taylor printed shirts (seen in Harper's Bazaar, looks pretty cool)

School is over yay, etc.
Jul. 1st, 2007 | 05:41 pm
location: Chair at home.
music: 30 Minutes - Tatu
{ So yeah school is over and all that good stuff. Freshman year went by so quick. My sched. came so I had to get it adjusted and allt hat stuff D; Still no sleeping in time for me though, 'cause of swim practice. This weekend I was at Madison beach for the Madison Mile, a mile in the ocean basically. You know I'm really starting to enjoy swimming in the ocean now! At first I was always scared, but since we've been doing so many ocean practices at the beach, the ocean has actually started growing on me. I still got work to do over the summer, gahhh, summer assignments! I jsut got my books for English yesterday. The Scarlet Letter looks like it's full of fancy language but looks promising, and Across a Hundred Mountains looks like a good read. This sumemr is going to be pretty busy! }

Haaah.

location: Almost bed time n_n
mood:
tired
music: Starlight - Muse
{ I tried doing origami recently over break and it totally didn't work out well. I don't think I'm really good at doing anything that involves my hands working (like sewing, folding, cutting paper, etc). While everyone gets to go out all over the country during spring break, I of course get to sit at home, like always. It gets so boooring here, you wouldn't believe it. At least during spring break I got to go shopping, a major yay for me. I also went to the Mystic Aquarium on a whim, but it was really crowded. If it hadn't been so crowded my mom and I would've stayed longer to swoon at the cute animals <3
On a worse note, I TRIED to start making a new layout for a site. It didn't work quite as well as I wanted to, you see, I kinda um..BROKE my photoshop >_>? I guess I'll have to just fix it tomorrow...or whenever I get around to it (which is more or less never).
Tomorrow I'm supposed to have a race for crew that involves waking up at around 7 AM. I guess I should sleep earlier today,r ather than around 2 AM.
Oh well. ;] }

Have I ever told you...
Apr. 8th, 2007 | 12:03 am
location: In bed
{ How much I absolutely hate writing English papers of any kind. I guess creative writing is better than a structered paper, but still, it gets pretty frustrating after a while. So swimming season is officially over and so is the dreaded erg test for crew. It wasn't actually that bad . I was suprised at my time cause I was expecting so much worse. Now we just gotta wait until the 23rd of April to see how much that time can improve. I've been addicted to facebook recently, a welcome distraction/procrastination attempt from the overload of homework I seem to be getting all of a sudden. I mean c'mon, don't teachers even get bored/tired of grading papers after a while? }

Is it just me..?
Apr. 4th, 2007 | 05:07 pm
location: In yo dreams
mood:
busy
music: I will follow you into the dark - Death Cab for Cutie
{ Is it just me or does it seem like our town is getting worse and worse (as in behavior)? Ionno, strange. Since I had a orchestra-thingy yesterday I couldn't attend history and science, and today, I realized just how much I missed. Two quizzes tomorrow on something I didn't even learn, hooray. On the brightside however, I did go to Boston for the weekend :D That was a lot of fun, and the food there was amazing, since our family hasn't eaten a homecooked meal since yesterday. I ate a ton of sushi <3 The food wasn't the best part though, the shopping was. Man, I love Boston and wish I could go there more. I think I really should get to my "studying," so peace out :p }
<Edit>
Oh darn, I forgot something again. Here ya go

Flooded back yard.
Mar. 2nd, 2007 | 10:29 pm
location: Floating around in my brook somewhere :)
mood:
amused
music: Traveling Soldiers - Dixie Chicks
{ Harhar, what the title says. Our backyard is completely flooded, we were kinda lucky cause we live on higher ground. I took pictures during this whole thing. I feel bad for one of my friends though because his house borders 2 rivers/brooks and his house isn't high up at all (it's almost level with the water). We told him he'd probably have to swim to his house. There wa sa lot of flooding going around everywhere basically from the rain pouring down all day. Just imagine, if it had been snow we would have gotten over a foot! It would really suck if this is acid rain or something like that though. :\
Tomorrow is Ali's birthday, so we'll all be sleeping over her house and I'm totally gonna steal all of Julie's smores. >:] }

Good job guys, real nice one
Mar. 1st, 2007 | 07:02 pm
location: Where else?
mood:
anxious
music: Cool - Gwen Stefani
{ Wow this must be a first. East Lyme scored two headlines on the front page and everything. For the dumbest things ever no doubt. We got some pretty intense lectures once we got back from our "vacation" huh? All I'm gonna say is East Lyme = complete and utter fail this time olol.
<Edit>
Kay, that was way too short even by my standards. Class selections for next year have begun, um yay right? It's only been slightly difficult because I couldn't get all my recommendation thingies in on time, tomorrow morning first thing I gotta run up to the French room so I can get recommended for French. Already made an appointment with my counselor for monday so I should be all set (that is, if I can even remember this by Monday) :] Oh gods, everyone was saying the classes I was taking were too hard and I'm not even sure myself if I'm gonna be able to handle it. All the kids with the big egos (gotta hate 'em) are like "Oh yeah, I can do this. This'll definitely be no problem." and then by the end of the year I bet they'll be screaming "OH GOD STOP THE PAIN!" or something close to that anyway. I guess that's the attitude you should have in the beginning, confidence about the classes you're gonna take but I'm pretty sure that will start to wear down later in the year. Oh mans, I bet I'll be the one screaming for the pain to stop sophomore year. Confidence, just gotta remember that, CONFIDENCE. D: }

What I'm reading?
Feb. 19th, 2007 | 10:26 pm
location: Somewhere warm <3
mood:
bored
music: We shout - Tatu
Oshits, really now. Who doesn't like a good book over vacation, especially when you can't drive and you're bored out of your mind! So right now I've got Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See sitting on my desk along with a whole pile of manga. Okay, not really the manga thing since getting scanlations is much much easier.
It's really strange because whenever I have school I always complain about having it but when it comes to vacation it is just so plainly BORING. This might be due to the fact that I can't drive myself anywhere and it's so frustrating just being stuck at home. Anyways for all your asian kids out there, happy chinese new year!
(olook she learned how to color her text keke)

It's been a while
Jan. 7th, 2007 | 08:18 pm
location: Home, srsly where else?
mood:
cheerful
music: Set fire to the third bar - Snow Patrol
Welcome to the new year then, I suppose :P
No resolutions this year, and no resolutions accomplished from last year (considering I had no resolutions last year either).
Second quarter for school really has gotten a bit harder, but I'm only freshman so this obviously can't be the worst it can get. I'm really beginning to dislike English though! Mostly because we never really get to do "free" writing, it's always structured in some kind of way. Next week midterms begin too (Jan 19), I haven't even began to study. I promised myself I would study over Christmas break, but I guess I never really...got around to it (procrastination is the win). :D
Today I got a chance (I suppose I shouldn't say chance because I've declined numerous offers) to go out with my friends to a movie and then to walk out on the boardwalk. Pretty creepy people you meet out there at night, let me tell you. As we were walking out today there was a man, drunk or going to get drunk (he had alcohol bottels in his hands) walking out towards the boardwalk. We gave each other a look and then we sprinted across the road. My friend says that there was a Mexican hobo following them one time. o_o; Creepy people you get out here. Weekends are really way too short, but mostly because mine are consumed with swim meets. No time for even WoE (war of empirium) anymore. =(
Oh btw, you should really read this book, it's quite interesting.
